Playa Grande, due to the influx of tourist, it has become the most visited beach of our municipality. It is the most central beach, with the easier access and with the best facilities.

The beach has a sport area, a game area, showers, rescue service and beach umbrella and hammock hire.

The Playa Grande is in Las playas Avenue and in this area we find a wide range of restaurants and shops.

Natural Protected Area

The area called Cagafrecho is situated in the southeast of Lanzarote. It covers a surface of 633.17  hectare and bathe the coast of the municipality of Tías.

This area is declared since September of 2001 as Special Are of Conservation (SAC),  according to the framework Natura 2000. Its main goal is to assure the long term survival of the species and natural habitats more threatened of Europe, helping to stop the lost of biodiversity caused by the adverse impact of the human activity.

The SAC is managed with the aim to guarantee the protection and the conservation of the different kind of natural habitats and the species of the community interest that are in the area. iIf it is necessary they take preservation actions to achieve the sustainable balance between the use and the activities developed in the area and the natural values that it kept.
