El horario establecido para el uso de las playas es de 10 a 18 horas. De momento, no habrá servicios de hamacas ni duchas y lava pies


El Ayuntamiento de Tías, de acuerdo con todos los ayuntamientos de la isla y con el Cabildo de Lanzarote y La Graciosa, ha permitido la apertura de todas las playas urbanas del municipio.


El inicio de la fase 2 de la desescalada del estado de alarma causado por la expansión de covid-19 permite desde hoy, 25 de mayo, el acceso y el baño a las playas con un aforo de cuatro metros cuadrados por bañista.


Los paseos o los baños están permitidos siempre que se puedan desarrollar individualmente y sin contacto físico y se mantenga una distancia mínima de dos metros. “Apelamos a la responsabilidad individual de toda la ciudadanía para poder disfrutar de nuestras playas con la máxima seguridad. Estamos seguros de que todos respetarán las normas establecidas”, señala Mame Fernández, concejal de Playas.


La apertura de las playas en Lanzarote se ha coordinado a través del Cabildo de Lanzarote y de los siete ayuntamientos, que han acordado las condiciones necesarias para dar este paso.  Por razones sanitarias, de momento no habrá servicios de hamacas y los baños públicos permanecerán cerrados, así como las duchas y lava pies de las playas.


El horario establecido para el uso de las playas es de 10 a 18 horas. En el caso del municipio de Tías, habrá servicio de socorrismo en las playas de Matagorda, Pocillos, Playa Grande y Playa Chica (con bandera amarilla).


No está permitido el baño en el muelle de la Playa Chica. No se podrá practicar buceo accediendo desde la Playa Chica y en el Poril. Podrán acceder al agua desde el muelle de la Playa Chica. Las instalaciones deportivas en playa permanecen cerradas y se continúa sólo con la práctica deportiva individual.

A tournament composed of 24 teams; More than 350 players from more than 20 different nationalities who gathered in Puerto del Carmen to play the Ultimate Beach Frisbee sport.

The City Council of Tías has been betting for years to promote this event, which thanks to the tenacity of the organizers has become the best European Ultimate Beach Frisbee tournament.

On the day of Sunday, the last rounds of the tournament were played, where there were two Spanish teams in the semifinals, as well as a Portuguese team and an American team; finally the victory was taken by the Spanish team to the San Francisco team in a very tight and entertaining final for the public.

A new success of the Mubidisk team as organizers, that thanks to their good work and the passion they feel for this sport, make the participants already eager to return to Lanzarote and dispute what will be the eighteenth edition of the tournament.

Strategic plan.- From the Tourism area, Domingo Lorenzo explained the strategic plan of the corporation for the next four years by inviting the different actors in the sector to transfer their own proposals to the City Council with the aim of achieving a joint and consensual work.

The four lines of work of the aforementioned plan are Sustainable Development, Accessibility, Gastronomy and Sports. According to Lorenzo, “these initiatives and proposals that I detail are not of mouthpiece, they represent a real signal to the markets that Puerto del Carmen and the municipality of Tías is a destination that compensates for the carbon footprint that has led to its transfer to the island” . “We will take concrete measures to make this issue less and less,” he added.

Among the numerous measures mentioned, the III Modernization Plan of Puerto del Carmen stands out under sustainable criteria, the Mobility Plan of the municipality of Tías as a strategic document for collective displacements, Tías as a tourist destination without single-use plastics and Tías, headquarters of the Canary Observatory of Climate Change.

In addition, the City Council is already working on an Accessibility Plan to eliminate architectural barriers, is driving the reopening of the School Restaurant in El Fondeadero with activation of the primary sector and local production, preferably ecological; and is making efforts that provide Puerto del Carmen with sports facilities to train at the highest level, among other actions.

The mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández, stressed that this initiative is part of making Puerto del Carmen an accessible tourist destination. La Concejalía de Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Tías presentará el próximo viernes día 13 de enero el Plan de Actividades para celebrar esta efemérides que cambió el destino de Lanzarote.


La principal zona turística de Lanzarote, Puerto del Carmen, se está modernizando a pasos acelerados. Junto a la mejora de los espacios públicos puesta en marcha en estos últimos tiempos por el Ayuntamiento de Tías se une la rehabilitación de varios establecimientos turísticos y aumento de categoría así como la construcción de nuevos hoteles.

Para el alcalde de Tías, Pancho Hernández, “después de medio siglo, podemos sentirnos muy orgullosos de cómo ha avanzado el turismo en La Tiñosa. Hoy en día somos uno de los destinos turísticos más rentables de toda España y uno de los que más empleo genera”.

Según las previsiones para este año, el buen ritmo de crecimiento económico continuará”, explica el alcalde, “debido fundamentalmente a la implicación del sector empresarial que sigue apostando por Puerto del Carmen e invirtiendo en proyectos de mejora y modernización”.

En este sentido, el teniente de alcalde y concejal de Turismo, Amado Vizcaíno, ha adelantado que para este nuevo año 2017 está prevista la apertura de 2 nuevos hoteles de 5 estrellas en Puerto del Carmen. Uno de ellos, el Fariones, ya está en obras de remodelación y aumento de categoría, y el otro, de nueva planta, se ubicará, junto a la Playa de Matagorda. Estas obras del nuevo hotel están previstas que se inicien a lo largo de este nuevo año.

De esta forma, la que fuera pionera en el desarrollo turístico de Lanzarote, hace ahora 50 años con la apertura del Hotel Los Fariones, se prepara para una importante transformación de sus espacios públicos y el aumento de categoría y calidad de sus principales complejos turísticos. De manera paralela a esta construcción y rehabilitación, la Concejalía de Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Tías ha puesto en marcha una serie de iniciativas para la promoción y relanzamiento del destino turístico de Puerto del Carmen coincidiendo con su 50 aniversario. Una efemérides, según apuntó el teniente de alcalde, Amado Vizcaíno “queremos que sea de manera conjunta con la rehabilitación y nueva apertura de estos complejos turísticos de 5 estrellas, entre ellos el Hotel Los Fariones, previsto para finales del 2017 “. Para ello, añadió, daremos a conocer este plan en un acto con todo el sector turístico que tendrá lugar el próximo viernes día 13 de enero, donde daremos a conocer el nuevo logo del 50 Aniversario, el nuevo material promocional de Puerto del Carmen, y las acciones a ejecutar en estos próximos meses, como continuación del material que estuvo presente en la pasada feria turística World Travel Market, celebrada el pasado mes de noviembre en Londres, y donde estuvo presente la Concejalía de Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Tías presentando a los tour operadores británicos la modernización de Puerto del Carmen.

Entre los materiales que se presentarán en este acto, con todo el sector turístico de Lanzarote, verá la luz un catálogo a todo color donde se explica el desarrollo turístico de Puerto del Carmen a partir de la apertura en otoño de 1966 de la primera fase del Hotel Los Fariones, en el pueblo pesquero de La Tiñosa, en una iniciativa empresarial que permitiría la construcción del primer plan parcial turístico en la isla de los volcanes bajo las directrices del célebre arquitecto Fernando Higueras.

Un grupo de empresarios, entre ellos Vicente Calderón, Virgilio Suárez y la Familia Machado emprenderían el germen turístico en Lanzarote con la construcción de la Urbanización Playa Blanca, junto a la actual Playa Grande de Puerto del Carmen y donde se edificaría el Hotel Los Fariones, hace ahora medio siglo. Posteriormente, el Hotel Los Fariones, ante su éxito turístico, sería ampliado.

El núcleo de La Tiñosa ya está documentado su existencia desde el año 1435, tres décadas después de la llegada de la expedición de Jean de Bethencourt y Gadifer de la Salle a Lanzarote con la creación de la primera Ciudad, Castillo y Obispado junto a las actuales playas de Papagayo.
