El Varadero is the part of the old fishing village that houses the dock of Puerto del Carmen. Probably the most emblematic place on this touristy coast, this is the heart of Puerto del Carmen. It is located in La Tiñosa, as the old quarter was originally named. The old fishing dock is still alive with the activity of the men and women who work hard at sea to bring us the delights of this coast, with a rich variety of fish and seafood.
El Varadero boasts an array of restaurants that are eager to please the most demanding of palates, not to mention its summer terraces where you can listen to some good music. For visitors, a stroll along El Varadero is almost compulsory. Here, the views are not the only treat; observe the peculiar salt-water ducks or watch a local game of bowls, savour the area’s gastronomy and allow yourself to be transported by our traditions, which we share with visitors to this day.
